<p>Yale Union was co-founded by Photo/Media Assistant Professor Flint Jamison in 2010 and held its first public programming in 2011. Jamison is currently president of the Yale Union Board of Directors. The organization has occupied an historic building in Southeast Portland, Oregon. It has presented the work of hundreds of artists, hosted numerous events, provided subsidized studio space to local artists, facilitated community programs, housed a publicly accessible art library, and published ten books through its imprint.</p>

<p>Several projects by undergraduate Design students received recognition in the last month. Congratulations to all! The Core77 and EPDA awards received by <span>Thipok Cholsaipant for AeroLyze are especially notable since they are part of major annual award competitions.</span></p>
<h2>Luminaire Jar</h2>

<p>Visual Communication Design Professor Christopher Ozubko is retiring after 39 years. He began teaching in the School of Art in 1981 shortly after finishing his MFA in design at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Professor Emeritus Doug Wadden, who was on the hiring committee, says that Ozubko was recommended by Katherine McCoy. She headed the graphic design graduate program at Cranbrook, which was known at the time for being interdisciplinary and encouraging experimentation.

<p>Interaction Design Assistant Professor Audrey Desjardins has been busy with two research projects since 2019. She recently received a National Science Foundation grant that allows her to begin a third project. Below is her summary of what she and her collaborators have achieved so far and what is yet to come.</p>

<p>Art History Assistant Professor Kathryn Bunn-Marcuse is co-editor of a new book published by University of Washington Press: <em>Unsettling Native Art Histories on the Northwest Coast</em>.

<p>Each year the School of Art + Art History + Design proudly celebrates graduating Art and Design students — both undergraduate and graduate — with a series of exhibitions at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery and the Henry Art Gallery. This year is so different in many significant ways as we all transitioned from real space to virtual space resulting in sharing our student accomplishments via three distinct websites: one for our BA students in Art, the second for the BDes cohort, and thirdly our MA, MFA, MDes thesis showcase.
