<p>Jake Seniuk (MFA 1983) had a long career in the arts, but his biggest impact was as director-curator of the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center from 1989 to his retirement in 2012. He mounted more than 150 exhibitions and had made significant progress on a book of exhibition essays before his untimely passing in 2016. The project was picked up by his long-time partner, Donna James, and curator/writer/editor Kathleen Moles (a former staff member in the School).
<p>During the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Jacob Lawrence Gallery has created a <a href="https://vimeo.com/jacoblawrencegallery">Vimeo channel</a> to continue to create meaningful connections between artists and audiences.
Offered in conjunction with a special exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum, John Akomfrah: Future History, this course examines the articulation of global and postcolonial identities, histories, and geographies in contemporary art.

<p>There is an enhanced <a href="https://depts.washington.edu/soaahdgrd20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Graduate Showcase website</a> to highlight the work of our graduating graduate students since in-gallery exhibitions are not possible during spring quarter. Those graduates who choose to will show their thesis work in the 2021 exhibition at Henry Art Gallery.</p>
