<p>Below is a list of the awards given at this year's in-person Graduation Celebration, which took place on the morning of June 11 in Meany Theatre. Adam Kingman (BDes 2014) was the featured speaker during the event.</p>

<h2>President's Medal</h2>
<p>Two Industrial Design students have received recognition for projects over the last few months.</p>
<h2>Jerred Mace</h2>
No prior experience of art or math is needed in this studio course, consisting of a series of studio assignments. We will explore mathematical ideas through making projects in movement practice (string figures), textile crafts (Coast Salish weaving) and lensless photography (wallpaper tilings). Ideas from these will be further developed in the final project, which is open to each student’s specific focus and interest, resulting in mathematically inspired interdisciplinary projects, from educational games and exhibits, to all forms of art, performance, programming, digital or time-based media.

<p>In the fall of 2021, Fresh partnered with the senior class of Industrial Design students at the University of Washington to innovate on the future of robotics. Fresh posed the question, “How can robotics improve our standard of living?”</p>

<p>The Black Embodiments Studio (BES) has a new, limited-edition collaboration from artist Nikita Gale and writer Mandy Harris Williams — and you can be one of the lucky few to get a physical copy.</p>
<h2>Background</h2>
<p>Assistant Professor Sangram Majumdar joined the Painting + Drawing faculty at UW in autumn quarter, when students, staff, and faculty returned to campus after 18 months of pandemic-related remote teaching and learning. Majumdar taught Beginning and Intermediate Painting in autumn, and followed up in winter with Beginning and Intermediate Drawing. This spring quarter he is balancing the Advanced Drawing class alongside duties as interim program chair while colleagues are on sabbatical.</p>

<p>The Graduate Students of Art History (GSAH) are pleased to invite you to the two-day virtual symposium “Dismantling the Body: Possibilities and Limitations in Art Making” on May 18–19, 2022.</p>
<p>This quarter's part-time faculty include eight in the Division of Art, one in the Division of Art History, and six in the Division of Design. Learn more about them below.
