Ethnomusicology Visiting Artist Concert: Ramón Gutierrez: Son Jarocho music

<p>Winter Quarter Ethnomusicology Visiting Artist<em> </em>Ramón Gutierrez hails from Xalapa, Veracruz in Mexico and specializes in playing the <em>requinto</em> (a small melodic guitar). He is the leader of the group Son de Madera, and has performed and recorded with musicians in other traditions, including the Chicano rock band Quetzal from Los Angeles and Antonio Corona, a performer of early music in Mexico.
