<p style="font-weight: 400;">Students, educators, and community members interested in participatory music-making gather at the University of Washington November 21-24 for a Seattle Participatory Arts Network conference. This four-day gathering will focus on participatory practices, especially music and dance, that encourage people of diverse skills and abilities to engage creatively. </p>
<p>We're pleased to highlight the recent success of Drama Alumn"J" Jha, (PATP, 2014). Jha has been garnering attention for their standout performance in the Oakland Theater Project’s production of "Mahābhārata."</p>
<p>Under the direction of Michael Socrates Moran, Jha's solo act showcased their dynamic talent, bringing a fresh perspective to the Bay Area's artistic scene. Adapted by Burlingame playwright Geetha Reddy, the production highlighted Jha's versatility and stage presence.</p>

<p>Lele Barnett is an art advisor, curator, and producer based in Seattle who has experience working with a variety of artists, organizations, and corporations. She graduated from the UW School of Art + Art History + Design in 1999 with a BA in both Interdisciplinary Visual Arts and Art History. When she was an undergraduate, her name was Leanne Ng.</p>

Eli Kahn (BDes 2020) is a designer at the firm and worked on both of these projects.</p>

<p>Two museums near Seattle — <a href="https://www.cascadiaartmuseum.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Cascadia Art Museum</a> in Edmonds and the <a href="https://www.monamuseum.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Museum of Northwest Art</a> in La Conner — currently have exhibitions that include former faculty and alums.</p>
<p>Adam Kingman received his Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design in 2014. He won the third season of Making It, a television competition, in 2021. The College of Arts & Sciences published a <a href="https://artsci.washington.edu/news/2022-01/designer-reflects-making-it&…; target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">story about his win</a> in early 2022.</p>
