<p>Professor Emeritus <strong>Barry Witham</strong>'s new book, <em>From Red Baiting to Blacklisting: </em><span><em>The Labor Plays of Manny Fried</em>, was published this month by Southern Illinois University Press. Professor Witham is the editor of Theatre in the United States: A Documentary History, and the author of The Federal Theatre Project: A Case Study and A Sustainable Theatre: Jasper Deeter at Hedgerow, along with numerous other works. </span></p>
<p>Our new series of quarantine interviews, <em>[Here/Now]</em> kicks off with MFA directing student <strong>Kristie Post Wallace</strong> and 2020 MFA acting grad <strong>Alyssa Franks</strong> talking about the School of Drama's production of <em>The Women of Lockerbie</em>, which opened and closed on the same day due to COVID-19.

Surveys the role of clothing, architecture, furniture and functional design in the formation of cultural identity in Western Civilization from Ancient Egypt through today.
<p>UW Drama alumni have long been known for their ingenuity and entrepreneurship, and those qualities persist in our graduates, even in this time of social distancing. Here's a sampling of some of the work our alumni are doing that you can enjoy from the safety of whatever isolation bubble you might be in. Thank you for doing your part to keep everyone safe and healthy, and thank you to our alumni for keeping the light on during these strange, difficult, but sometimes-still-beautiful times. </p>
