Frequency: Variations

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Chamber group Frequency—violinists Michael Jinsoo Lim and Jennifer Caine Provine, violist Melia Watras, and cellist Sarah Rommel—performs works by Sergei Prokofiev, Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint Georges, Benjamin Britten, Felix Mendelssohn, Kaija Saariaho, and the world premiere of a new work by Melia Watras in this exploration of the musical form of theme and variations.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Dynamic duo Cuong Vu and Cristina Valdés straddle the worlds of contemporary classical music and free improvisation, premiering works for trumpet and piano by Oliver Schneller, Wang Lu, and Skúli Sverrisson, and performing music by Huck Hodge and <span>Eva-Maria Houben</span>. </p>

 UW Modern Music Ensemble

<p>The UW Modern Music Ensemble (Cristina Valdés, director), performs works by Yi<span>ğ</span>it Kolat, Ania Vu, <span>Evis Sammoutis, Chen Yi,  and George Crumb. Program includes the world premiere of Spomenik I, by UW faculty composer Yiğit Kolat and the West Coast premieres of Ania Vu's Tik-Tak, and Evis Sammoutis' Rotational Gravities. </span></p>
