New Music Festival: Indigo Mist with George Garzone

<p><span>Renowned saxophonist George Garzone joins faculty improv band Indigo Mist—Cuong Vu, Richard Karpen, Juan Pampin, Ted Poor, and Steve Rodby—in an evening of improvised music. </span></p>

<p><span>This concert is part of the New Music Festival, hosted by the School of Music and Digital Arts and Experimental Media (DXARTS) and celebrating new music with performances by internationally renowned guest artists and composers as well as UW faculty and students. </span></p>

Previously scheduled to be performed at Meany Center for the Performing Arts, this recital of Bach’s first, third, and fifth Cello Suites, broadcast from Sæunn's living room, premieres at 4 p.m. PDT and will only be broadcast once.</span></blockquote>

Modern Band with UW Jazz Faculty

<p>The UW Modern Band (Cuong Vu, advisor) presents a set of original compositions by band members Katyrose Jordan, <span>Trevor Eulau, Beau Wood, Tony Lefaive, and Jai Lasker</span>. Jazz faculty Cuong Vu (trumpet) and Ted Poor (drums) appear in the second half of the program to perform music by Ted Poor joined by students and guest bassist and Jazz Studies faculty member Steve Rodby.</p>
