Improvised Music Project Festival (IMPFest) 

<p>The School of Music and the student-run Improvised Music Project present the annual Improvised Music Project Festival (IMPFEST), featuring two evenings of distinct performances by UW Music students, faculty, and guests. Featured artists for IMPFest 2023 are composer/pianist (and 2023 GRAMMY winner) <strong>Kris Davis</strong> and multi-instrumentalist/composer <strong>Michael Libramento. </strong></p>

Chamber Singers & University Chorale

Songs of Love, Loss and Betrayal” <br></strong></em><em>An eclectic program of American contemporary choral works, the winter quarter concert by the Chamber Singers and University Chorale examines love through many lenses, including the absence of love. </em></blockquote>

Faculty Concert: Melia Watras with Atar Arad and Flora Cummings, viola: Branches 

<p>Faculty violist Melia Watras welcomes viola legend Atar Arad (her former teacher) and her student Flora Cummings in a concert that celebrates their viola family tree. Arad will perform two chaconnes: his own composition and Bach’s monumental Ciaccona from Partita in D minor, transcribed for viola; Watras will perform three works that she penned for viola solo; and all three violists will take turns performing with each other in selections from Béla Bartók’s 44 Duos.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

Wind Ensemble: South Korea Tour Preview Concert, with Robin McCabe, Donna Shin

<p>The UW WInd Ensemble (Timothy Salzman, director) performs music prepared for the group's upcoming tour of South Korea. Program includes George Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue (Robin, McCabe, piano); Franz Doppler: Andante et Rondo (Donna Shin and Grace Jun, flutes), and others. WIth Eun Ju Vivianna Oh, soprano, and graduate conductors Shaun Day, Roger Wu Fu, and David Stewart. </p>
