<p>The Henry Art Gallery and the School of Art + Art History + Design have long partnered on educational projects. One of these is the Museum Guide Program and its internship course. Starting in autumn quarter, eight students joined program manager Berette Macaulay for weekly sessions that introduced the students to the work of contemporary art interpretation and community engagement within a museum setting. Due to the pandemic, classes were normally on Zoom, but they did manage one in-person outing in late October.

<p>Thirty-minute, no-contact viewing appointments are now available for this exhibition. All visits require a completed health attestation form, and all visitors must wear masks. No more than two individuals are permitted per appointment. <a href="https://calendly.com/jacoblawrencegallery/viewing" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Check appointment availability</a>.</p>
<p>Parnassus, the cafe in the basement of the Art Building, has also served as a gallery for student work and other exhibitions over the years. With the arrival of COVID-19 and the closure of the Art Building, this venue has not been available. A group of enterprising students, with help from two staff members, have come together to create an online version of the Parnassus Gallery.
<p>We have three part-time lecturers who are continuing from autumn quarter 2020: <a href="/news/2020/09/28/autumn-part-time-faculty#costello">Joe Costello</a>, <a href="/news/2020/09/28/autumn-part-time-faculty#morales">Arely Morales</a>, and <a href="/news/2020/09/28/autumn-part-time-faculty#yen">Jayme Yen</a>. <h2>Andrew Allen</h2>
<p>The School of Art + Art History + Design is sad to announce the passing of Professor Emeritus Bill Holm on December 16, 2020. He died at home in his sleep at the age of 95.</p>
<h2>Brief Biography</h2>
<p>Holm was born in Montana, and his family moved to Seattle when he was twelve. Shortly after that, he met Dr. Erna Gunther, director of the Washington State Museum. She helped to grow his already deep interest in Native peoples and their cultures.</p>
