At a Glance
The Arts comprises 5 academic departments in the fields of Music, Drama, Art + Art History + Design, Dance, and Digital and Experimental Media (DXARTS), as well as 2 museums; the Henry Art Gallery and the Burke Museum; and the Meany Center for the Performing Arts which runs a major visiting artists program. Our faculty includes 86 tenure track professors, 10 full-time lecturers, and 26 artists in residence. Annually, our departments teach 1,100 graduate and undergraduate majors and grant 289 bachelor’s degrees, 52 master’s degrees, and 29 PhD degrees. Over the last five years, we have taught an average of over 75,000 student credit hours annually, often to students whose majors are far afield from the arts. We are also proud to produce more than 300 performances, exhibits, and public programs annually.
